Hey folks, welcome back to another blog post. In this one, we’re going to be exploring all about the Pomodoro technique.
A lot of productivity gurus out there have claimed this technique to be the pinnacle of all productivity techniques, but that may not be the case for everyone after some point. There’s a limitation to the pomodoro technique and we’ll get to that in a minute.
For those of you who don’t know, what exactly is the Pomodoro technique? Well its a method of accomplishing a desired task in a particular way. It involves splitting up your tasks into blocks, and allotting respective amounts of work-time and break time. The Pro's and Con's
Now, here comes the catch. As you progress becoming more and more productive and increase your attention span, you become much more capable in holding your focus. Technically, you’re able to do an hour of focused work, but the technique breaks your flow twice for that one hour, and you end up accomplishing slightly less.
The technique starts holding you down once you’re capable of getting into the ‘zone’ on command.
This is exactly why the technique isn’t suitable for everyone, and it requires tweaking.
The Solution?
Based on my personal experiences and the experiences of all those who I’ve shared this with, the following solution has created wonders. Here’s the complete breakdown of the solution:
Let’s divide ourselves into three categories: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The three categories can be distinguished by the amount of quality work that can be done before needing a break.
Closing note
So folks, that was my complete breakdown of the pomodoro technique. In this blog, we strive to become a better version of ourselves. Instead of sticking to the inefficiencies of the standard technique, I’ve tried to bring in an uncommon approach of managing your time. I really hope it helps.
That’s it for this blog post. I’ll see you on the next one. Cheers!
